Fire Department

The Proctor Volunteer Fire Department was formed in 1898. Our goal is to provide the town with progressive and proficient fire protection. Department membership totals 25, including 2 junior members. Our Junior Firefighter Program is open to students from 14 to 17 years old. Junior members are restricted from fighting fire, but are allowed to participate in many of the support functions on the fireground as well as participate in monthly training.

Burning permits are REQUIRED for any open burning, except when there is snow cover. To obtain a burning permit, contact Albert Wenta, Fire Warden, at 459-2823. There is no fee for permits, however, certain restrictions must be observed.
